GIVING TUESDAY THANK YOU!

My dear friends in Christ!

I want to begin by expressing my heartfelt gratitude for your generosity during this year’s Giving Tuesday. Your support gives us real hope that we are finally placing Hurricane Ida in the rearview mirror. Because of you, we can now move forward with replacing the floors in the rectory—one of the last major pieces remaining from the storm’s long shadow. Your kindness is helping our parish not only rebuild structures, but restore stability, peace, and momentum for the future.

To appreciate what happened this year, it helps to see it in perspective. Our previous best Giving Tuesday was in 2021—just 93 daysafter the landfall of Hurricane Ida, when the needs of our parish were not only in front of our own people but in front of the entire nation. That year, 62 individual donors contributed $34,163 in an emotionally charged moment of recovery.

This year, however—without a natural disaster driving national attention—we saw 124 individual donors, exactly double the number from 2021, contribute $31,111, which is 91% of the amount raised in 2021. That is extraordinary. Not only did we surpass our goal of $25,000, but we did so through the quiet generosity of twice as many hearts choosing to stand with our parish in 2025.

As we move forward, I ask you to please continue praying for our parish and for the remaining pieces that still need to come together so that we may finally close the long chapter of Hurricane Ida. Your generosity, your prayers, and your love for this community sustain us more than you know. Thank you again for standing with us and for helping bring our parish one step closer to a full and lasting restoration.
